Information We Collect
Curiosity does not require account registration. We may process app usage signals such as screen interactions, feature usage, language, app version, and subscription status. We do not intentionally collect direct personal identifiers such as your real name, email, or phone number through app analytics. Some technical identifiers generated by your device or platform may still be processed for app functionality and reliability.
How We Use Data
We use data to keep core features working, improve app quality, analyze performance, and understand which features are helpful. We also use limited technical information to prevent abuse and diagnose errors. When possible, we rely on aggregated trends instead of user-level profiling.
Local Storage on Your Device
Your preferences and app state, including selected topics, liked facts, history, and appearance/language settings, are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. Widget state is also stored locally to rotate facts. This local storage helps provide a personalized experience without requiring account creation.
Analytics
Curiosity may use analytics providers to collect aggregated and pseudonymous usage data. This helps us measure stability and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data. Analytics events are used to understand app performance and feature adoption, not to identify you by name.
Subscriptions and Purchases
If you purchase Curiosity Pro, billing is handled by your platform store account (for example, Google Play). Subscription infrastructure may be provided by RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive limited subscription metadata, such as entitlement status and renewal state, to unlock Pro features.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Curiosity schedules local reminders on your device. Notification payloads can include internal fact identifiers so the app can open specific content. You can revoke notification permission at any time from your operating system settings.
Data Retention
Locally stored data remains on your device until you remove it, reset app data, or uninstall the app. Analytics providers may retain aggregated technical logs according to their own retention policies. Retention periods can vary depending on legal obligations and provider configurations.
Children's Privacy
Curiosity is not directed to children under the minimum age required by your local laws without parental consent. If you believe a child provided personal data inappropriately, contact us so we can review and help. We will take reasonable steps to remove such data when legally required.
Your Choices
You can disable notifications from device settings, manage subscription status in your store account, and uninstall the app to remove local app data from your device. Depending on your region, you may also request information related to privacy rights by contacting us.
